My New Living Room

Today i visited my Dr for my 33 week check up and baby got an A+! He seems to be growing the way he should and his heartbeat sounds great! I have one more checkup in 2 weeks and then after that its a check up every week. Yikes!! Its getting closer and closer!

After our appointment, Wil and I had lunch at a greek place we've been meaning to try, Mediterranean Grill -so good. Brought back memories of Santorini-even though, nothing will compare to the freshness of food in Greece.

Since we were in the area, we stopped by a coffee shop i've been meaning to check out called, Chocolate Coffee. I had low expectations considering I haven't really found a coffee shop here in Atlanta that I could call home yet. But this place was soooooo cute - its very Friends-ish, as in Central Perk. There's tons of couches and tables, free wifi, great selection of flavored coffee with reasonable prices. I didn't really look at the dessert since i was still full from the baklava i just had at Mediterranean Grill, but the website boasts about their desserts. In the back, aside from a wide array of comfy couches, they had a little version of an old fashioned street lamp :) im a sucker for that kind of decor. Colorful textured paintings adorned the wall, the texture was made from coffee beans - how witty.

So, I've finally found my home away from home. This is wear I plan to entertain my girls, conduct business meetings, use as an office, use as a getaway with baby once he's old enough to hang out in his stroller while I read a book. Its my new living room.

There were tons of drinks to choose from - i was tempted to try the almond joy frappe. But i decided instead to get their classic decaf iced coffee, light with one splenda :) so good for a hot day like today.

Tuesday Shoes Day

I love the neutral color of this shoes (surprise, surprise). I like the trendiness of the studs but the classiness of the peep toe. i would wear this for work. Or i would pair it with cuffed, distressed boyfriend jeans and a cute top

Lil Clothes

My sister, Gail, the witty, funny person that she is, loves getting quirky presents for people. She's the kind of person that would get the ugliest toy and give it as a gag gift. The thing she absolutely loves giving are onesies with fun sayings. So, it was no surprise when i opened up a package today with 3 different onesies from http://www.wrybaby.com/ with the cutest sayings for baby. I can't wait for him to wear these :)

I really need to give this website a chance! First of all, one of the onesies is organic which is great, i haven't started on the organic bandwagon yet, but i'm open to it. Second of all, the backing of the packaging is cute. It says something like, "if you're funny enough to buy something from this site, then you'll be a great parent." Witty Stuff. Thanks Tita Gail!

My other sister, Christine and her fiancee Eddie, who are more into name brands got baby the cutest outfits. They got Ralph Lauren/Polo onesies. They also got him his first Jordan clothing - i'm pretty sure this was all Eddie :) And the best of them all was a little Navy Ralph Lauren Jacket. I love this one the best because it totally matches a jacket my dad wears. I can not wait for them to wear their jackets together!!!! Thanks Tita Christine and Tito Eddie!!!!!!!

Have Hope

i'm getting anxious - to the point that i called my mom freaking out whether whatever i was feeling was normal. So today's homily at mass really hit home for me.

The priest at St. Thomas More in Avondale Estates - the church i'm hopeing to baptize baby - said, "Have Hope. Fight Fear with Faith." I have to have faith that everything will be alright.

Live! Because life is everything!

A pregnant girl's best friends

Being pregnant is absolutely the best feeling. Waking up every morning knowing there is a miracle growing inside me - especially after all the heartache of trying for so long. Although i've always been in bliss with this pregnancy, i was reminded just how much it means to me, when a good friend of mine, who was having a hard time conceiving found out she was pregnant!!!!!!! What a gift to be able to go through this.

That being said, there are still some necessities to make the pregnancy more "bareable." No matter how happy we are, there are some not so nice changes that happen to our body that affect our emotions, our esteem, our well-being. This is my list of "can't live without" during my pregnancy

-Cocoa Butter - i religiously rub this on my belly, i do think i started too late because i do have stretch marks, but now, i'm obsessed. i almost feel like if i don't put it on, the stretch marks will spread all over and i don't want to risk that.

- body pillow -your new boyfriend - your husband would probably get jealous of this pillow, Its a full length body pillow that you can rest your head on while keeping in between your knees, when your belly gets biggers you can rest it on the pillow. I love it. My only complaint is that i would get a firmer version, but i think its just a matter of personal preference. Nowadays, i really do prefer cuddling with the pillow than my hubby. lol. The version i got was from Target called the Boppy Total Body pillow. I think wil bought this for me like the week i found out i was pregnant. Another version that i've heard great reviews about is the Snoogle.

- mascara - even if you have no energy to put any makeup on, this is the one thing i would suggest using. mascara really opens up your eyes and brightens up your face. I use DiorShow lengthening mascara. I put a poll on facebook on mascaras people recommend and i got the most comments about this. I can't complain. i like it.

- belly band - this is a band made of stretchy fabric that you put around your waist. its great for that in between stage when you're too small for maternity pants but too big to button up your regular jeans/pants. i love it moreso because i've been using this throughout most of my pregnancy. Sometimes, it just feels nice having the support on my belly and back instead of feeling like my belly is just hanging around. I also use it as a tubetop under some of my maxi dresses or sweaters for extra support with my boobs and belly. I got 2 of these, one in white and one in black from Target.

- highlighting makeup for the glowing pregnancy look - your face is a biggest asset at this point, its the only part of my body that i can count on not changing too much. I use a creme highlighter from Mac in Hush.
