New Joisey

My NJ accent was for sure "mad" strong this past week. Whenever i go home or hang out with my NJ friends - it always seems to seep back into my vocabulary. How cute would it be if Gabe had a mini jersey accent?

Here are I am with my sisters and my girls from NJ that came to visit for Gabe's baptism. We were drinking the night away having fun while the boys were playing Baci ball outside at Leon's in Avondale Estates. I loved being able to share my little world here in atlanta with my out of town friends. Plus, i have to say, it was my first drink since before i was pregnant with Gabe - very refreshing.

(Gail (my middle sister), Tina (my sister in law), Cheryl (my lil sister's BFF), Christine (my friend from way back when), Christine (my baby sister), and moi)

I'm wearing my Zara shirtdress in pink with a tan skinny belt, Michael Kors Gold menswear watch, rhinestone and canvas taping bracelets from my Designs by K Cayetano line, pearl button earrings, and my Louis Vuitton speedy bag is making a cameo right in the center of the pic

That's what friends are for

I had an amazing weekend with my bestest friends from Minnesota. I've been looking forward to this trip for so long - and now its over :( My friends Ann, Shirley May, Richelle, and Ryan visited us here in Atlanta.

They were able to meet baby Gabe! We were also able to show them around. Wil and I were totally tourists too since we haven't had the chance to go around town since we moved. We went to different spots such as:

Avondale Estates

Flip Burger

Gladys Knight's and Ron's Chicken and Waffles

The Varsity

The Atlanta Aquarium

The Coca Cola Museum

I'll have to write different posts for each of these spots :)

Mother's to be Day

I loooove Mother's Day! Now i realize a lot of people are skeptical to celebrate mother's day when they are expecting - maybe they think it will jinx the delivery, i get it. But for me, we're taking care of a baby - whether's he's inside or outside already, he's still a life that we have to take care of and think about in everything we do - then we're already a mom. Especially for me, being so close to my due date, its been 9 months with this mentality so i let myself celebrate this mother's day.

First i woke up to a huge present next to me. It was a Brookstone foot massager!! It had a flower on it and a handmade card :) so sweet!!

I couldn't ask for a more beautiful day. Its been unbelievably hot here in Atlanta, we're takin 90 degrees, so when it was 75 degrees on Mother's day, that in itself was a treat. I get hot so easily now so days that are cooler and breezy really make my day.

Wil, Sushi, and I walking around Avondale Estates

Wil, Sushi (our shih tzu), and i had a great lunch at Sushi Avenue in Avondale Estates. We were able to eat outside so sushi was able to hang out with us. We each ordered a bento box with salmon teriyaki. I was craving a sushi taste so i ordered mine with california rolls. Thats usually my sushi menu when i'm pregnant, either california rolls, shrimp tempura rolls, or eel rolls. Even though i miss sashimi, it still hits the spot for now. Wil got the same thing, except instead of the rolls he got shrimp tempura. oooo boy -it was sooo good. Sushi even got a little doggie bowl for her drinking pleasure. It was really a great experience.
Me at 37 weeks ready to get my grub on at Sushi Avenue
sunglasses-Marc Jacobs

Yummy bento box!!

Then, afterwards, we got a large mango flavored icee - we just happened to pass by this small icee shack while we were driving. And it definitely hit the spot on that day.

We took a mini drive to the Tanger Outlets a little bit south of Atlanta. It was nice walking around -Sushi was a hit with everyone. And it helped that i bought a few fun things from J Crew :) i'll post pics when i can. Plus i got these amazing sandals from Banana Republic.

LOL - i think wil was celebrating mother's day too!

Spatopia

I have been looking forward to today for a few weeks now. I had an appointment to get a manicure and pedicure!!! Its so funny the things we take for granted . Back in my NYC days (makes me sound so old) i would get manicures and pedicures left and right during my lunch breaks. Then i would get them every few months and then all of sudden, i couldn't remember the last time i had one.

So finally, i decided to treat myself to a mini pampering break - mainly b/c i didn't want gross nails in my baby shower pics, but also because, as i've said before, its tough to feel fabulous when you're gaining all this weight and when you feel like you have a bowling ball in your tummy. So today was the day :) Every little thing helps your esteem - trust me.

Since we just moved here to Atlanta, i had no clue where to go. I know the Buckhead area is promising, but its a bit of a trek from home and i'm sure places there are pricey. So i decided to find a place in Avondale Estates which is the next town over from me with a cute boutiquey neighborhood feel. I found a place called Jazmin Spa. It has 3 locations in Atlanta so i figured it had to be good right?

I have to say i was very happy with the service - then again, i would've been happy with anything - i think. But really, the place was cute, everyone was nice, the OPI color selection was great. They even had a few Essie selections. I went in their thinking i would get a cherry red color . Now i'm not normally a "color" girl - i usually like the light pink/neutral color b/c it looks elegant and looks good with my skin color. My usual is Essie's "limo-scene." But today i envisioned getting cherry red - b/c Olivia Palermo rocks it and she's my fashion icon. As i thought of it more and more, i figured i didn't have the confidence for cherry red at the moment and i decided to go for a color that my good friend Richelle got me into, Opi's Barefoot in Barcelona.

I'm soo happy with the color - its a good happy medium between my normal light pink and my overly showy red. Its just such a big difference between when you do your own mani/pedi vs having it done professionally. It felt so relaxing to get a scrub AND a massage on both my hands and my feet. I even got the parafin treatment on my hands where they put the warm wax and kept it in warm gloves for a few minutes. Those little moments really do mean a lot at this stage when all you really feel are aches and pains all over.
And can i just make the disclaimer that Barefoot in Barcelona is the perfect name for this color - its like a neutral color that still makes a statement. Its the perfect color to have on your toes, walking around in the sand. So what if the sand is snow at this moment :) I can still dream.
