I'm crying

I got a beautiful fwd from my father in law today that i wanted to share.

A Newborn's Conversation with God

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."

God said, You will simply call her, "Mom."

Tuesday Shoesday

Here are shoes i'm literally on the verge of ordering.....

Nine west Sacha in grey
Chic Sandal with multiple straps
studding on the instep
3" heel
Price: 30% off of $79.00

In general, i'm not really a fan of nine west's designs, but the ones i do like, i find very comfortable. I decided on this pair b/c it it looks trendy but not trendy enough to only be for this season. I've always loved the neutrality of the color grey. I like the minimal stud accents, and i especially love teh 3" heel. I love heels, but I can't walk around in anything higher than 3 1/2"
I'll keep you posted if i do order these.

Nesting in overdrive

I'm not sure how to explain these past few weeks. You read and read all these baby books in the hopes of being ready for exactly this time. But its a weird feeling to actually be in a phase that i've read so much about.

Everyone always says, you have a hard time sleeping in the end, you'll feel so anxious for baby to come out, you'll be in nesting mode and get the house ready. People and books couldn't have hit it more on the nose.

My sleeping schedule is like this. 3 hours sleeping in my bed, on my side cuddled with my snoogle. I force myself to do this because the nurse practitioner said this aids with the functioning of my kidneys. I hate doing it because when i wake up, my tummy hurts on one side from all the weight and pressure falling on it. Potty break. Then for the next 3 hours, i move downstairs to the family room to sleep on my chaise with a firm back pillow where i sleep sitting up. Of course i usually can't fall asleep right away here. So i spend the next hour catching up on facebook status updates. Then, knowing that i'll be annoyed having to go to the bathroom in the middle of my sleep, i make one stop to the bathroom and then i finally go into the last leg of my sleep sitting up on my chaise. Everyone says to get as much sleep as i can now before baby comes. Let me tell you, i try and try - but it is NOT working. I guess my body is getting me ready to not sleep.

Anxiety - yes, I'm excited to meet baby. But with meeting baby comes the labor, delivery, and the recovery and i can't get over that part. in fact it makes me scared! i know, millions of women have gone through this, including our mother's and grandmothers, but it still doesn't appease the anxiety. Everyday this week, as i wake up to contractions or mild cramps i'm always wondering, is today going to be the day? Its a really emotional time, not feeling in control of when things are going to happen. And when i say things, i mean, life changing events!! The car is packed with our hospital bag but, i constantly feel like i have so much more to do before baby comes.

This is where nesting comes in.
I can think of a million and one things that need to be done here in the house before baby arrives. And that is probably what kept me so busy last week at like 3 am in the morning. I cooked dishes to freeze for future use. I cleaned the kitchen to my heart's content.

I literally spent 3 hours in the baby room organizing diapers i got from diaper cakes. 3 hours!! diaper cakes are great - i love making them and and i love getting them. But, its a pain in the ass to figure out which diapers are what size, which i should use first since they're smaller, etc.

I did like 5 loads of laundry between mine, wil's and baby's.

I guess doing these are not so bad. its just that fact that they're done in 3 in the morning that made me feel insane.
I honestly loooove being pregnant. I know I am blessed and so lucky to be in this
position. Only a year ago i remember recovering from one of my miscarriages. But i know that nothing, no reading, or no advice from people can fully prepare me for this new adventure i'm about to face within these next 2 weeks. All i know is that this baby is what will give me the strength to be a good mom, wife and person in this world.
So every night, i kiss his picture, waiting for the day i can kiss him in person.

prenatal massage

I finally had a prenatal massage. i got so lucky. a few years back my mom had given me a gift certificate she had to the Nordstrom Spa. I happened to find it as i was unpacking and luckily, they had a location here in Atlanta AND they offered prenatal massages. I was looking forward to it for like 2 weeks!

I did enjoy it but i have to say, it was a bit rough for me. I probably should've said something early on, but i just thought maybe my skin/muscles were sensitive since i hadn't gotten one in a while. Nevertheless, it was a nice to be pampered for a few hours. The room was very soothing with dim lighting and calm music -i'm hoping my delivery room can be somewhat similar to this. lol.
During the massage, Tanya, my masseuse asked me if i had an trouble areas. The 2 i mentioned were my lower back and my swollen feet. For my feet she used a minty creme called:
Gehwol Fusskraft Mint
It vitalizes and freshens your feet.
Cooling menthol ensures invigorating icy freshness,
essential oils from Asian mint, mountain pine, and
lavender fortify tired and aching feet spontaneously.

I loved it so i got suckered into buying a tube. It was $20 for 2.6 oz tube, but i like it. Everynight Wil rubs this on my feet and it honestly soothes my swollen feet and ankles.

Mother's to be Day

I loooove Mother's Day! Now i realize a lot of people are skeptical to celebrate mother's day when they are expecting - maybe they think it will jinx the delivery, i get it. But for me, we're taking care of a baby - whether's he's inside or outside already, he's still a life that we have to take care of and think about in everything we do - then we're already a mom. Especially for me, being so close to my due date, its been 9 months with this mentality so i let myself celebrate this mother's day.

First i woke up to a huge present next to me. It was a Brookstone foot massager!! It had a flower on it and a handmade card :) so sweet!!

I couldn't ask for a more beautiful day. Its been unbelievably hot here in Atlanta, we're takin 90 degrees, so when it was 75 degrees on Mother's day, that in itself was a treat. I get hot so easily now so days that are cooler and breezy really make my day.

Wil, Sushi, and I walking around Avondale Estates

Wil, Sushi (our shih tzu), and i had a great lunch at Sushi Avenue in Avondale Estates. We were able to eat outside so sushi was able to hang out with us. We each ordered a bento box with salmon teriyaki. I was craving a sushi taste so i ordered mine with california rolls. Thats usually my sushi menu when i'm pregnant, either california rolls, shrimp tempura rolls, or eel rolls. Even though i miss sashimi, it still hits the spot for now. Wil got the same thing, except instead of the rolls he got shrimp tempura. oooo boy -it was sooo good. Sushi even got a little doggie bowl for her drinking pleasure. It was really a great experience.
Me at 37 weeks ready to get my grub on at Sushi Avenue

Then, afterwards, we got a large mango flavored icee - we just happened to pass by this small icee shack while we were driving. And it definitely hit the spot on that day.

We took a mini drive to the Tanger Outlets a little bit south of Atlanta. It was nice walking around -Sushi was a hit with everyone. And it helped that i bought a few fun things from J Crew :) i'll post pics when i can. Plus i got these amazing sandals from Banana Republic.

LOL - i think wil was celebrating mother's day too!

Big Baby!!!

I had an amazing appointment this week - Wil and I went in for an ultrasound to see baby. The main purpose of the appointment was to see if my due date was correct because my belly was measuring bigger than what it should be. Plus we wanted to make sure the baby's head was facing downwards the way it should be.

What a treat! Not only were we able to see baby but we saw him in 4D!!!!! its such a big difference from seeing black and white shadows guessing different parts. in 4D, we literally got to see his face. Can you even imagine the feeling of seeing your baby's actual face? it was surreal.

His heartbeat was good, his head was where it should be. we even saw his little hands rubbing across his face. it was the cutest thing.

My fluids were a little high which is probably why I was measuring bigger. But the doctor said everything was fine.

The biggest shocker was baby's size. Granted, these are estimates and they say to give it +/- 1 pound but they quoted me a whopping....... 8.5 pounds!!!!! yikes!!!!!! And he should be growing about .5 pounds each week. I have no clue how big he'll be when we arrives, but yikes!!!!

The doctor said, return all our newborn clothes and diapers. lol. kinda cute, but kinda scary. we'll see how right they were.

Wednesday flowers

My new obsession right now is peonies. I've always known how beautiful they are, but i love them more so for the drama they add to a room's decor. I have no clue if this is part of my "nesting" feelings or what - but i heart them. Here are some great inspiration pics I found online as well as on http://www.weheartit.com/ I'm thinking of getting a gorgeous see through blue vase to put on baby's room with some peonies. I think this would look great against the contrast of the espresso colored dresser. We'll see. I'll keep you posted once i find something.

Sweet Shoppe

The littlest things make me so happy. I was sitting here eating chocolate malt balls that my parents-in-law brought for me and it just made my day. I've had these before and LOVE them. They get them from a small candy store in the small town of Lacrosse, WI.
Its about a 2 hour drive from the Twin Cities so we don't get it very often,
so you can guess that i was ecstatic when they gave me a cute little wrapped box
filled with these milk and dark chocolate malt balls from there.

The Sweet Shop, as its called, fits right into the setting of this small town.
Picture one main street with an icecream parlour, a local bar, a family setting restaurant,
a small but trendy boutique, a mini art store with paintings and photographs from local artists.
It looks like it belongs in the movie
.

If you're ever in that area. Stop by - get the malt balls and get another one of my favorites - "love food." The name alone sounds appealing :) its like a chocolate covered wafer. yum!

I feel like such a little kid dangling my feet, eating candy with a big fat smile on my face.
