Tight fit

Clothes (and subsequently confidence) are getting harder and harder to choose from these days so i'm relying on my accessories and jewelry to make my outfits.

Here are some recent pics (not too happy with them) but want to be honest.

34 weeks pregnant

About to eat some yummy spring rolls at Pho 96 on Buford Highway, Atlanta
wearing:
old navy brown billowy cotton tank
black leggings from target
Steve madden white/gold slippers (not shown)
blush 3/4 sleeve grandfather sweater from Zara
dogwood gold statement necklace from J Crew
Gold menswear-like watch from Michael Kors
OPI nail polish in Mediterranean Nights
35 weeks pregnant
standing outside my townhome, with my beautiful flower bushes in the background
wearing:
h&m stripe dolman top
gap maternity jeans in dark rinse wash
steve madden white/gold slippers (not shown)
gold menswear-like Michael Kors watch
new Spring 2010 statement necklace from Designs by K Cayetano
OPI nail polish in Tropical Punch

Although nothing can probably bring a girl's spirits up about the way she looks/feels in her 3rd trimester, here are some things i like to do to pick me up:

- i try to get regular mani's and pedi's. And if i really want to save, i just get the pedi since there's no way i can reach my tootsie's and i give my nails a nice fresh coat of nailpolish once a week
- i always accessorize since these are the only constant pieces in my wardrobe. I usually wear a statement necklace to dress up my otherwise blah outfit. I usually wear my Michael Kors menswear inspired watch b/c i think its such an eye catching piece. I usually use my Louis Vuitton bag since it fits everything and really says it all
- i always put make up on - even though there are days when i'm not in the mood to put any on
- i treat myself to something i love every once in awhile such as a a decaf iced coffee, a slice of tiramasu, a pecan bar...
- i relax and read a cool book about someone who inspires me
- if i can't get my hands on a book, i read some posts from my favorite blogs

Right on the nail

I'm infatuated with bright nailpolish colors for the spring and summer. I love the look of short, manicured nails with a pop of color, whether its Olivia Palermo's cherry red color, Whitney Port's currently popular Coral color, or even Lauren Conrad's hot fuschia color. Just picture them holding their cup of coffee from Starbucks or flipping through the pages of a magazine with their fab nails.

Now, I'm a matchy, matchy girl and i always match my fingers and my toes. So picture those hot colors will pretty sandals :) Not sure how many more mani/pedi's I can get done before baby comes so not sure yet what color i want to decide on. But here's some pics to look at for fun from http://www.weheartit.com/ :) Granted i probably wouldn't rock a lot of these looks, but they're fun to look at

Relaxation

After going to birthing classes, aside from massage and touch techniques, music, and aromatherapy, they suggest having visual aids to relax your body during labor. Wil and I discussed it and the two places that make me happy and have great memories are of course, Boracay, a tropical island in the Philippines, and Santorini, Greece .

Here are some pics from Greece that i want to think about during labor. Greece is literally heaven on earth. The pics don't even do this island justice .

A blogger's retreat

Today's blog is more about inspired living. As i sit here, quite uncomfortably on my couch, reaching towards the computer because my tummy is in the way, I am staring at dream picture that I came across on Frou Frou Fashionista's blog. I would love to have a desk that looked like this as i blogged- how could you not be inspired everyday by sitting at this desk?
Here's a picture of their cabinet in their office. what a great way to display coffee table books which is one of my loves. Coffee table books are one of those things that i can't help buying if i find a great deal, but know in the back of my head that i don't really need it. But they're so pretty!!!

And to top it off, here is a pic of a swarovski crystal mirror they had in their office. Maybe one day.....
This would honestly be a great addition if Designs by K Cayetano ever had a retail store.

Buckle up and Boogie

Graco Quattro Tour Travel System
Wil and I attended another class at Babies R Us called Buckle Up and Boogie. I have to say it was very informative since I had NO clue what the difference was between all the baby carriers, car seats, etc! This baby business really is a whole nother world. So this class was meant to inform us on the different types of car seats as well as the proper way to install it into the car.

2 two main differences are:

1) baby carrier (as pictured above)
2) baby booster type seat (back is used for smaller kids) when the kids get older, the backs can usually be removed so the kids can just use the seat portion

Wil and I got the stroller travel system above which comes with a stroller, carrier, and car base already. When we picked it, we just looked at it for color, weight, practicality of the stroller, we didn't even think to look at the carrier as a car seat. Thank God, after today's class, its still a good choice. We went with the travel system pictured above, The Graco Quattro Tour Travel System. You can definitely purchase the carrier and car seat on its own, but we needed a stroller anyway so this was worth it for us.

We learned that some hospitals require you to have a carrier with you at the hospital before you can take baby home. So even if you have one of those booster seat types in your car, it doesn't matter - some require this carrier.

Once baby is ready for a booster seat, we were impressed with the Graco Nautilus.

Anyway, if you're expecting, I recommend this class. It shows you where to loop the seatbelt for the seat base, it shows you the proper way to tighten the 5 point buckles on the car seat itself, yes 5! Cars makes that are 2002 and older have different features and the rep shows you how to secure the base for both options.

They recommend that you take your car seat to your local fire department because they are certified and can tell us if we are placing the seat properly.

Its so scary thinking that baby's life is in our hands. And its even scarier thinking we can't control the other drivers on the road. What an amazing task at hand to take care of and protect this little life. I'm sooooo excited. Going to these classes just makes it more and more real. I can't believe wil and I are going to be a mommy and daddy!!! I'm so proud and blessed to be in this position. We've been wanting it for so long. And now he's finally coming! :) :) :)
