A Capital G

I've been looking for a simple gold "initial" necklace for quite sometime - i want a G for Gabriel :) A lot of designers on etsy have the hammered style which is basically a circular disk shaped pendant with a letter hammered into it. I guess I don't want this since I've created pieces like this before in my jewelry class so i feel like its old..... Then i saw an adorable one on Leah Michelle on last night's episode of "Glee." I don't follow this show religiously but i wanted to see the "Britney Spears" episode. It was pretty entertaining. Needless to say, I loved the simplicity of the initial necklace she was wearing and i was on the hunt today for something similar.

This is what i found by Classicdesigns on etsy.com

Still looking around but i think i may go with this one. I love how the letter looks like its floating on the dainty chain.

New Joisey

My NJ accent was for sure "mad" strong this past week. Whenever i go home or hang out with my NJ friends - it always seems to seep back into my vocabulary. How cute would it be if Gabe had a mini jersey accent?

Here are I am with my sisters and my girls from NJ that came to visit for Gabe's baptism. We were drinking the night away having fun while the boys were playing Baci ball outside at Leon's in Avondale Estates. I loved being able to share my little world here in atlanta with my out of town friends. Plus, i have to say, it was my first drink since before i was pregnant with Gabe - very refreshing.

I'm wearing my Zara shirtdress in pink with a tan skinny belt, Michael Kors Gold menswear watch, rhinestone and canvas taping bracelets from my Designs by K Cayetano line, pearl button earrings, and my Louis Vuitton speedy bag is making a cameo right in the center of the pic

Celebrating Gabriel

On September 19, 2010 Gabe received the Sacrament of Baptism at St. Thomas More Church here in Atlanta, GA. Wil and I were so happy to have him baptized at that church. Its such an inviting community with great pastors and we couldn't be happier. 30 of our close friends flew into town to celebrate with us. Friends and family came in from New Jersey/New York/Minneapolis to be with us. It was a blast! Its always fun when my NJ friends mesh with my MN friends. Plus it was fun for everyone to finally meet our baby boy.
Just like we did it in Aruba, we tried to make it a weekend long celebration.

On Saturday, Sept 18 - we had a welcome dinner at our favorite local Italian restaurant - Anthony's.

On Sunday, Sept 19 - we had th Baptism and a beautiful outdoor reception at Park Tavern near Piedmont Park here in Atlanta.

On Monday, Sept 20 - we had a goodbye brunch here at our home before everyone took off for home

Here are some bits and pieces from Gabe's big celebration. A lot of TLC went into this party with a lot of Do-It-Yourself (DIY) party ideas.

(Gabriel in a vintage christening gown from his godfather - RG. RG wore this at his own christening 30 years ago)

(Gabe getting baptized by Father Brian at St. Thomas More Church in Avondale Estates. Godparents Gail and RG were there to witness it)

(All of our family and friends who flew in for the occasion sqeezed into a big family shot)

(Beautiful DIY centerpieces, Blue and white ceramic vases from Home Goods, fresh blue hydrangeas from Dekalb Farmers Market)(White cutout vases from Home Gooods)(Our lil family :) I'm wearing an H&M dress, Fioni shoes, and a David Yurman cocktail ring. Wil's wearing a DKNY pinstripe suit with a Burberry tie, Kenneth Cole shoes. Gabe is wearing a Gap button down with Burberry shorts)(DIY cupcake stand that i created with a crystal cross on top. Cupcakes from Atlanta Cupcake Factory - 2 flavors - Red Velvet with Almond frosting and Sugar Cookie Caramel Cupcakes. SOOO good. )(My family pic: Jim -Gail's boyfriend, my middle sister Gail, my dad, my mom holding Gabe, my youngest sister Christine, her husband Eddie, me, and my love Wil)(Favors were handmade rosary bracelets courtesy of Designs by K Cayetano. I loved that i was able to make something meaningful and special for our guests) (The handmade rosary bracelets were blessed and placed in sheer pouches with personalized ribbons as favors for all of our guests at Gabe's baptism)

Everyday Glamour

I finally learned to pack efficiently for the baby when i leave the house. I used to lug a HUGE diaper bag with so many unnecessary things in it like 3
bottles of milk, 2 pacifiers, 3 changes of clothing, 3 bibs,
the changing mat,diapers, wipes, etc.

Now i have the bare necessities all wrapped up in my changing mat. Because of this, i can now use a nice bag for everyday glamour - of course its still not my chanel 2.55 since its a bit too small for my needs right now, but I got the Louis Vuitton tote in the domier print - i got the lighter color since my speedy bag is in the dark brown color. I love it b/c i think it makes my outfit. I'm still on the lookout for the Michael Kors python tote, but I love this purse....for now :)

Cutiepie

My little cutiepie had a huge weekend!!! Not only did he celebrate his 4 month birthday but he received the sacrament of Baptism!! It was an amazing weekend with family and friends who flew here to Atlanta to celebrate with us. I'll post more pics in a separate post but in the meantime, here's Gabe at 4 months in his little whale bathtub. My sister, Christine, and her husband Eddie are creative with pictures and they decided to style Gabe's hair to look like Alfalafa. Cute :)

Pre-Baby

I came across this beautiful video on Youtube. Moms were asked if they could go back to the time before they had their first baby, what would they tell themselves.

If i had had the chance to tell myself something before Gabriel was born I would say, don't worry, this is our time. He is here to stay.

A Mommy Must-Have

I have been going back forth in my head on what kind of bag to get. i desperately need one. This is very embarassing but i use my canvas tote from world market as my purse. I normally use my louis vuitton speedy bag, but ever since i had Gabe, i found that it just wasn't practical to carry a purse on my forearm. I do carry around a diaper bag, but throughout these 4 months with him, i've learned to just carry the basics which is a changing matt, a few diapers, and some wipes. These are pieces that i can carry in a nice trendy tote. I started eyeing this fab one from Michael Kors. I love the chic-ness of the python snakeskin leather. i think its a print that stands out that will go with a lot of my outfits. Definitely a mommy must have. And definitely a better substitute for my canvas World Market Bag. This is on my watch list.

- i was so excited when i opened up the package.
It was his very own pair of Uggs!! he can match mommy!

End of Summer BBQ

We went to an end of summer BBQ at Wil's boss's house this past weekend.
It was so great meeting his coworkers and putting faces to the names and stories he's shared with me. It was one of Gabe's first times going to a party and
i have to say he did an amazing job! He was so quiet and so chill
- everyone kept commenting on that. I'm so glad.
Two months ago, i would've sworn to you that he'd never stop
crying because he seemed so colicky. But now, he's calmed down so much.
He's such a good little boy. I keep telling Wil how i wish
he would stay at this age forever. I just love how cuddly he is,
yet he's old enough to interact, smile, and laugh with us.
Pretty soon, he's going to start crawling and wanting to experience the world
- he won't want hugs as much :( i'm cherishing all of my moments with him.

Gabe: 16 weeks -carters overalls.
me: jcrew ruffle button up shirt, h&M boyfriend vintage shorts, zara belt, steve madden ballet flats, michael kors menswear gold watch, jcrew crystal bracelet

PS - i got a new haircut!! i'm soo happy. Shout out to D from City Salon by Michelle Coulter here in Atlanta! (Thanks Jen for the recommendation!)

Sweet Tooth

I just found my new favorite spot here in Atlanta. The Atlanta Cupcake factory. Its located near the Virginia Highlands area -
and its absolutely adorable. You literally feel like a little kid
in the store staring at all the amazing colorful and yummy looking cupcakes.
I went there to other day to order some cupcakes for Gabe's baptism.
I went in thinking this was going to be like every other bakery.
But when i saw a flavor called, peanut butter chocolate bacon cupcake,
i knew this place was different. Wil of course tried this one. I got a
sugar-cookie caramel flavored cupcake. All i can say is,
i literally died and went to heaven. Both flavors were amazing.
I know, I know, you're asking, bacon?? on a cupcake?? i thought the same thing.
But i promise you, the mix of the salty and sweet flavors complimented each other. It really was that good. Atlanta Cupcake Factory, 624 Highland Ave NE, Atlanta, GAPeanutbutter, chocolate, bacon cupcake Sugar cookie caramel cupcake

You know what fall means...

Aside from fall fashion week, it means.....FOOTBALL!
ok, who am i kidding. i don't follow football like i follow fashion,
but my husband does which means, my son will too.
The season opener this year was a MN Vikings vs the New Orleans Saints.
These were the same two teams that fought for a spot to play in last
season's Super Bowl.

Here's baby Gabe in his Vikings gear - he wasn't very happy.
I like to say he wasn't happy because the vikings lost AGAIN
to the saints, but a lot of people like to say its because he's
not happy with the team choice :) Who knows?

The gift

We just received an amazing gift from my mother in law's friend.

She drew a picture of Gabe using different mediums, pencil, marker, paint, etc.

She based it off a pic that my mother in law shared with her of our baby.

Here's a picture of the original pic and then a picture of the painting.

I plan on hanging it in the nursery :)Gabe 5 weeks old

Everday Glamour

Here's how i would style that fab sequined jcrew skirt i posted about the other day. This board is more for everydaywear. I paired it with a blue oxford button down shirt and a casual knotted belt. I made sure all accessories were casual so as to dress down the skirt. I chose leather bracelets instead of metal ones for that very purpose. I like the look of layering different colored leather bracelets. I also chose a saddle bag versus a structured bag. I gave 2 options of shoes. Since this is a dream outfit i included great suede booties. But since in real life i'm a mom and can not be walking around in heels like that, i included great suede oxford shoes. I haven't bought a pair since this style seems to be a bit trendy. But if they do last for more than a few seasons, i'll consider investing in one.

Everyday Skirt by kleano featuring Lucky Brand bags

Here's another version of how I would style this jcrew sequined skirt. I'd dress it down with a cotton nautical striped tee. In honor of fall i paired it with warmed colored accessories, including my obsession - my fendi peekaboo bag.
